Coffee with Heart

Updated: Apr 22, 2022

I traveled to Virginia around a year ago to visit family and, when she found out that I had even the slightest interest in coffee, my aunt insisted on taking me to a beloved, little coffee shop with a big heart.

With blends and single origin coffees from across the globe, and offering an array of healthy to indulgent additions, there was a cup on the menu for everyone in the party, even for my uncle who had never before had any interest in gourmet coffee. After welcomed conversation with one of the owners, and an introduction to our barista, a Flat White, a Mocha and a Full Armor (a mind-blowing combination of fresh brewed coffee, coconut oil and grass-fed butter) were promptly ordered, lovingly created and thoroughly enjoyed.

Not Your Average Cup o' Joe

There is no denying how inviting and warming a coffee shop can be, especially one like Radford Coffee Co. in Radford, Virginia. Not only are the menu options diverse and delicious, and the owners friendly and passionate about their work, but the shop and staff thrive on serving others. And that doesn't just pertain to the popular, caffeinated beverage. The service impacts the community of Radford, surrounding areas, as well as communities in Honduras along the Rio Coco.

Coffee for education? Yes, please!

When you purchase that mocha at Radford Coffee Co., money is donated to service projects occurring nearby and those along Rio Coco in Honduras. Through Project Ezra, profits from the coffee shop help educate the Miskito children of Honduras. Funds have also been utilized to pay for teacher training and cover their salaries, as well as provide disaster relief, medical care and more.

So the next time you are in Radford, stop by Radford Coffee Co. Not visiting anytime soon? Visit their website and check out their amazing coffees or merchandise. Whether you sip on that Full Armor inhouse, or the Two Face Decaf from the comfort of your own home, know that you are helping positively impact someone's today and future.
